LGBTQ, Gender and Sexuality

I provide a gender-affirming and sex-positive approach to therapy. You might find gender, sex and sexuality to be difficult topics to talk about - most people do - and they are common sources of shame, uncertainty, fear and hurt. They can also become sources of joy, compassion, love and tenderness. In working with me you will experience a non-judgemental space in which you can begin to explore and understand your own thoughts, beliefs and needs relating to sexuality and gender.

About Gender and Sexuality

Although there has been an increasing acceptance of a wider range of sexualities and genders, many people still experience psychological and emotional distress associated with their gender or sexual identity, and may experience verbal, physical or sexual abuse because of it.

I am committed to helping all of my clients reach a point of embracing and enjoying their gender and sexual identity whatever that may be, and finding ways to help manage the social and cultural pressures and stresses they may experience as a consequence.

"What is most important is to cease legislating for all lives what is liveable only for some, and similarly, to refrain from proscribing for all lives what is unlivable for some.” – Judith Butler
